About me

I have been a journalist for the best part of two decades and worked for a number of national and regional newspapers - such as The Guardian, Sunday Express, Sunday Business and Yorkshire Post - before going freelance in 2002. You can read more about my career here.
Since going it alone my work has regularly appeared in a variety of outlets, including The Sunday Telegraph, The Independent, Daily Star Sunday, Daily Express, Moneywise, Investment Week and Citywire. Although I have been asked to write on most topics, my specialist areas are personal finance, business, enterprise, property and sport - particularly motor sport and football.
An accredited member of the National Union of Journalists, I have also contributed to books, co-ordinated supplements, designed corporate communications, carried out research projects, produced advertorials, ghost written columns, and supplied a wide range of editorial and consultancy services to everyone from individuals to corporate giants.
